Admissions Data and Systems Officer (Fixed Term to May 2027)

About the Role
New College Durham is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Admissions Data and Systems Officer to join our Admissions Team at our busy Further and Higher Education college. This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing the student application journey, ensuring our systems and processes are efficient and accurate, and optimising for a seamless student recruitment journey. You will work closely with prospective students, parents, and internal staff to deliver a high-quality admissions service.  Your responsibilities will encompass data processing, analysis and reporting, data cleansing, troubleshooting and customer service.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Process student applications and respond to enquiries via multiple channels (website, email, telephone, and in-person).

  • Maintain and update course information across our website, UCAS, and other platforms, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve admissions processes, user guides, and training materials for both the Admissions Team and wider college staff.

  • Produce and analyse admissions reports to provide insight into the student journey and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure accurate and clean admissions data, identifying issues and implementing system or process enhancements.

  • Act as a key point of contact for student admissions queries, providing excellent customer service.

  • Support student recruitment activities, including communication campaigns, events, and staff training.

  • Represent the college at recruitment events and collaborate with other institutions to share best practices.

  • Carry out administrative duties and ensure compliance with quality management and audit standards. 


About You
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration/Customer Services or IT or  2 A-level passes

  • Has strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

  • Has recent experience of communicating/liaising with internal and external stakeholders

  • Is proficient in managing data and systems, ideally in an educational setting.

  • Can communicate clearly and provide excellent customer service to students and staff.

  • Enjoys analysing data to drive process improvements.

  • Is proactive, solution-focused, and comfortable working collaboratively across teams.
